When I Was a Little Girl . . .

Tiny Betsy McCall models an outfit inspired by the charming children’s fashions of the 1920’s as illustrated in a B. Altman & Company catalogue. Betsy’s Dress is created from cotton with a pink/blue/yellow floral print on a white background. It features a lined bodice and gathered skirt with an attached embroidered petticoat. Gathered capped sleeves and a pink bow add little-girl appeal. The dress closes in the back with tiny buttons over snaps.

White batiste Bloomers, complete with cuffs ornamented with pink ribbon, peek delightfully at the hemline of the dress.

With a change of accessories Betsy’s dress can go to school or to a Sunday Social with perfect ease. For those less formal occasions, Betsy dons her sturdy Brown Knee Stockings and blue cotton gathered Cap.

For special times, the lined, white ultrasuede Cloche Hat is ideal. It is adorned with a floral band and tiny pink and blue roses. And, of course, only crisp White Knee Stockings will do.
